Baked Donuts with Lilac Taro Yam Glaze
How can we say no to donuts? Especially when they're coated with plant-based food coloring Lilac Taro Yam glazing!? We think these might be the most delicate looking donuts ever with these heavenly purple with our Suncore Foods® Lilac Taro Yam Supercolor Powder! Give a go at making these dazzling treats at home perfect for any brunch and breakfast spread, one won't be enough when it comes to these donuts and this treat is sure to please everyone in the new year!
Makes 10-12 donuts
2 cups (240g) all purpose flour
1/2 cup (100g) sugar of choice
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp Suncore Foods® Rose Salt
1/2 cup (120g) dairy free yogurt
1 cup (240g) unsweetened soy milk
2 tsp vanilla bean extract
1 cup icing sugar
2 tbsp lemon juice
Suncore Foods® Lilac Taro Yam Supercolor Powder & Suncore Foods® Ebony Carrot Supercolor Powder for the color
1. Preheat the oven to 180c. Prepare a donut pan and set aside.
2. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, soda and salt.
In a small bowl, whisk together the sugar sugar, milk, yogurt and vanilla until smooth.
3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
4, Add the batter to a piping bag, snip a corner and pipe it in.
5, Bake donuts for 12 minutes. Remove donuts from oven and let cool.
6. Mix together icing sugar, lemon juice and power, until you get the right glaze consistency. It should be runny, but still form a layer of glaze.Dip the cooled donuts into the glaze. Enjoy!
